Norma Morton has received a Diamond Jubilee Medal for her lifetime contribution to the Comox Valley community. Among the first involved in the Comox-Strathcona Natural History Society, Morton was an early visionary regarding the need to protect the Courtenay River Estuary.

Comox Valley Regional District chair Edwin Grieve presented Morton with the medal in early December.
